Description: This original copper plate engraving is designed, engraved, hand-printed, painted with watercolor and signed in pencil by Cape Cod artist Timothy Jon Struna. The edition is limited to 100. "Christmas 2013" features the Nantucket Lightship and is the third in the series of lighthouses of the Islands at Christmastime. Lightships were sea-going vessels that essentially operated as functioning lighthouses that floated on the water. They provided assistance to ships in areas where conditions were too volatile for an actual lighthouse to be built on land.
